L’art en Egypte ancienne après les derniers Ramsès

Les fans d’égyptologie ont jusqu’au 23 juillet pour admirer une large collection de
trésors datant du dernier millénaire de l’ère pharaonique, dans une exposition
intitulée « Le Crépuscule des Pharaons » au musée Jacquemart André.

C’est la première fois qu’une exposition est dédiée à cette période trouble de
l’Egypte ancienne. Durant cette époque, le pays, en raison de son importante
instabilité, connut invasions et crises politiques qui l’ouvrirent sur le monde,
influençant et enrichissant sa vie artistique.

A l’exception du musée du Caire, les plus grands musées internationaux, du
British Museum de Londres au Metropolitan Museum de New York, ont prêté des
pièces inestimables afin de mettre en lumière cette période tourmentée mais
riche. Plus de 140 pièces, sarcophages, sculptures, objets de culte, bijoux et
bas-reliefs sont organisées suivant un parcours thématique.
